39-track project · three editions
What happens to love when it cannot be named? Queer memory becomes a world of voice, rhythm, masks and image, approached through three distinct listening environments.

The project draws on more than two thousand years of queer memory. Its historical references are material for an artistic translation, not documentary reconstructions or proof of a single identity shared across periods. Pride, Velvet and After Dark are parallel interpretations within one project, rather than three unrelated works.

Mirrors, doors, curtains and doubles recur in the artist’s account of the project. A face is not a permanent emblem: it changes with intimacy, danger and the conditions of being seen.
The source material names figures including Plato, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Shakespeare, Proust, Frida Kahlo and Oscar Wilde, alongside the Stonewall uprising. These are stated artistic references, not a single historical category. The project’s research bibliography was not available in the pages reviewed.
The artist’s project page credits concept, creative direction, music, lyrics and visual direction to Syntax of Paradox. Further production and research credits are not supplied there.
